Why the name Dachi?
Dachi (pronounced dah-chee) is the slang, shortened version of “tomodachi”, which means “friend’ in Japanese. I am half-Japanese, and my mission is to build tech products that are aligned with your values and help you flourish - just like friends would want for you.
Who am I?
Hi! I’m Antonio. I have spent the last few years looking into how social media negatively affects our lives, and strategies to get back our time and improve wellbeing.
I founded a startup to help people break social media addiction through app-mediated cognitive behavioral theory, and have written a Master thesis on the topic, where I did a study with 93 participants - and built an intervention that significantly decreased the users’ levels of social media addiction.
During this time, I read countless of papers, and collected a lot of useful insights that are not in the current online discourse. Dachi is my attempt to share them.
